1. What is a Spam?

2. What is a Mega-Byte?
A Mega-Byte is 1,0240,000 Bytes. For administration and billing purposes a Mega-Byte is considered to be 1,000,000 Bytes.

3. I received spam. Should I report it?
MailWall runs Anti-Spam and Anti-Virus software and email must pass many layers of protection before being accepted into our system. Our protection services, known as MailWall regularily blocks 97% of spam and 99% of virus.

However, the ever changing nature of Spam means spammers are constantly testing new ways for Spam to get through. When such Spam does get through, please report it to us immediately by forwarding the message to antispam@mailwall.com.au. We evaluate and determine the best approach to blocking such messages.

4. What to do if your friend or customers email has been blocked?
If somebody sending you email has been blocked and rejected, firstly they need to contact their IT administrator or ISP to determine their mail gateways have been listed on any of the following blacklist providers:

www.spamhaus.org
ordb.org

They can use the IP address of their mail gateways to do a lookup on the above blacklist service providers to determine if their domain names or IP addresses are listed in their system. If their mail gateways are listed in the above mail blacklists then they need to follow the instructions from the respective blacklist provider to remove their IP address(es) before they can send mail through us again.

5. What to do if your email has been blocked and is not listed on a blacklist service?
MailWall will pro-actively block domain names or IP addresses for known spam or Virus Mail Bomb sources. Occassionally, this will impact on valid email. Please contact us directly to review and remove any block for valid mail sources, we will respond to your query and advise you of any actions.

6. What is a subject pass key?
Most of our clients that use our MailWall services will have a subject line pass key. This enables emails to run quicker through various protection layers. If you need to know what your pass key is, then please ask your IT administrator or email support@mailwall.com.au.

7. What is the maximum attachment size for email?
The maximum size for email attachements is 8 Megabytes.

8. Does MailWall provide add on Tag message?
MaillWall does not support the practice of tagging messages filtered through our system with advertising. Email belongs to you, we won't add advertising message about our products on to it.
